Design: Family Feud Social

The next social I was asked to create a flyer for was a Family Feud Game Night. My design centered around the logo. Mostly it was helpful in coming up with the colors to use in the rest of the flyer. It should be a fun evening! I'm a little bummed that I will miss it. We'll be traveling to Michigan for my Grandpa's memorial service.

The Reveal!

As you know, we are an Air Force family. That means we move often. We have been awaiting notification of where we will be heading to next and it finally came. Charles found out and decided to make a little game out of it to share the news with me. He created a scavenger hunt with some pretty awesome clues.

Each clue had some letters highlighted. I had to convert the letters into numbers and input them into Google maps to reveal the location.

We're moving back to South Carolina!!! By the way... it is not easy to get kitties to cooperate with a family photo.

Have you played Kubb?

On Saturday afternoon I am hosting a spouse event to play yard games. Someone is bringing corn hole and I wanted to get a yard game to add to the fun. There are all the classics like croquet, horseshoes and badminton. But who wants the same ol', same ol'? While purusing REI one day, we saw a game called Kubb. It looked pretty interesting. I found one on Amazon for a little cheaper and with free shipping (thanks Prime) it was delivered right to my door.

We attempted to play it first just by going off the instructions that game with the game. While they were pretty good, we did not quite get it. This is one reason YouTube is so fantastic. We watched a couple tutorials and have a much better understanding now. YouTube Video Tutorial

If you have never heard of it, I recommend checking it out. It's an easy game to set up and play. You can play with 2 or more people.

Book Club & Game Night

Soon after we moved here, I joined a Book Club. Our first meeting was great with maybe 8 ladies. Since then it has dwindled. Each month we vote on the next book from a list of choices from the admin. We have read a few books I never would have picked up myself, but all have been interesting. We have also read two books that I read in the past year. One of which was Call The Midwife. I love that series of books and I love the TV show. It has some heartwarming and heartbreaking stories.

Our most recent meeting was on Friday night. My friend hosted and we had fondue. Yum! We read The Goldfinch which was an interesting book, but totally different than I was expecting. I am still not sure if I liked the book or not. For the discussion, it just ended up being me and my friend even though a couple other people had RSVPed. It was still a good evening.

We're in the midst of voting for our next book. Both options seem a little better than The Goldfinch.

And last night I hosted a game night for some of my military spouse friends. Everyone brought some food or drinks. We chatted and played Apples to Apples. That is a great group game! It was so much fun to get to know everyone a little better. I love hosting events.

Next month almost everyone requested Bunco. I have only played once, but it was fun. It should be interesting!
