Oktoberfest!

While at World Market (one of our favorite stores), we were looking at their German display. Charles casually said to me "We should have an Oktoberfest party." At the time, I was thought it was a good idea but didn't take it very seriously. However, later I was thinking about all the fun things we could do and all the yummy food we could eat and I was sold! Charles, on the other hand, wasn't too thrilled. I don't think he thought I would take his suggestion seriously.

After a little convincing, we decided to host an Oktoberfest party. It was soooo much fun! We cooked a lot of food and sadly took pictures of NONE of it! But here are some pictures of everything else!
We had everyone pick a German name tag to wear during the party. It was fun finding German names and learning their meaning.

We had several photo props and a backdrop so people could take pictures. My vintage cart from the Mad Men themed Spouses Night Out came in handy!

My Silhouette is awesome! I used it to cut out pennants in the German flag colors and pretzels for this simple banner.

We both lived in Germany and have been together twice in our married life. Naturally, we have quite a collection of German stuff. It was perfect for our Oktoberfest centerpiece. I purchased the Oktoberfest tablecloth on Amazon.

Charles picked out several German words for people to guess the meaning of. It was fun to hear the guesses. German can be a hard language!

The closest dress I had to the German look.

I picked up 6 random beers at World Market for a blind tasting. I didn't like any of them, but I am not a huge fan of beer. But I think everyone had fun tasting.

Our little group.

That's a real German lederhosen, folks!
