Design: Coffee

I am having a blast creating fliers for our base spouses' club. We recently voted to merge with the Enlisted Spouses' Club which means I will have many additional projects to work on. Yay!!! I have started to prep a few items such as a newsletter and trifold. The project I have had the most fun with so far has been creating some new logo options. I cannot wait to see which one is chosen! I have a favorite, but I will share more about them soon.

An event we have coming up is a coffee meet up. The summer is really casual and we do not have an "official" socials, but I'm glad they have a couple events planned. A lot of people move in the summer, so it is beneficial to have an event for people to get their "feet wet" with our group.

Gilmore Girls Party: Coffee Punch

Coffee is a must at any Gilmore Girls party. They drink it morning, noon and night on the show! I am not personally a fan of black coffee, so I knew I had to make something a little tastier with a coffee flavor. I came across a recipe for Coffee Punch in a cookbook I purchased around the holidays. It was a cookbook fundraiser for the Officer Spouses Club and it is filled with great beverages, appetizers, entrees and dessert recipes.

The punch is amazingly easy and so delicious. You just need a big container, a coffee maker and the ingredients. So simple a Gilmore Girl could make it.

Coffee Punch

Ingredients
1 pot of brewed coffee
1 gallon of vanilla ice cream
1 pint whipping cream

Directions
Make coffee.

Put ice cream in a punch bowl. Let it soften a bit. Put metal spoon in the bowl to keep punch bowl from cracking as you pour the hot coffee over the ice cream. Stir continuously and slowly add whipping cream to thicken.

Review: Seattle's Best Coffee blends

I am not a big coffee drinker. I do not like the taste of plain coffee. It must be sugared and milked up to be enjoyable. Plus caffeine and my tummy do not get along most times. Despite this, sometimes I like to treat myself to a coffee beverage.

While grocery shopping a few weeks ago I discovered the Seattle's Best Coffee blends. I thought I would try it out. The first one I tried was Mocha flavored. It was quite tasty. And since I have a Magic Blender, it was easy and convenient to make.

Today I am trying the Caramel flavor. It is very yummy as well! Plus, check out the coupon I found so you can try one with $1 off.
